New streaming setup for St. Eberhard’s Cathedral Church in Stuttgart

Stuttgart’s Catholics can now follow the services from the Cathedral Church of St. Eberhard online as a stream. To make this possible, Broadcast Solutions has installed a streaming setup in the cathedral. Currently, the City Deanery of Stuttgart is streaming the services on Facebook, and other events, such as “Talk am Dom”, are also planned.
 
To meet the reduced spatial conditions on-site, Broadcast Solutions decided to install the streaming setup compactly in a piece of furniture on a side gallery. This cabinet contains the complete technology, consisting of two Eizo monitors, Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro image mixer/streaming device, 4-channel audio mixer, NUC PC and a Cisco switch. The complete setup is designed for one-person operation during the productions.
 
Broadcast Solutions chose a fixed BirdDog P200 HD PTZ camera with a control unit and two Panasonic AG-CX10 mobile camcorders to capture the action during the services. The BirdDog PTZ camera and control panel are both powered via PoE and are fully NDI-enabled. One of the congregation’s requirements was to install the PTZ camera in the nave as inconspicuously as possible.
