Nevion announces new 400G addition to its eMerge SDN media fabric offering

High-capacity switch enhances existing comprehensive line-up

Nevion, a Sony Group Company, announced today the latest addition to its SDN (software defined network) media fabric portfolio: the Nevion eMerge 400G. The high-capacity switch, which is ideal as a spine router for facilities or a central router for OB trucks, is a powerful addition to the existing line up of 1G, 10G, 25G and 100G eMerge switches.

A key component of Sony’s Networked Live offering, eMerge SDN media fabric is a portfolio of high-capacity IP switches carefully engineered to fulfil specific broadcast requirements for both LAN and WAN networks, and pre-integrated with Nevion’s VideoIPath media orchestration platform. The switches’ advanced features, such as flexible programming of NAT (network address translation) rules, give unprecedented control of media flows in the network. eMerge is also fully interoperable with other COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) IP switches on the market.

The new 1RU eMerge 400G provides 32 x 400G ports, with a total capacity of 25.6 Tbps. In addition to this new switch, Nevion is also announcing a 64 x 100G eMerge with 12.8 Tbs capacity, to add to the existing 32 x 100G eMerge.

Cezary Cieslewski, Product Manager, eMerge at Nevion says: “The demand for our eMerge switches has grown dramatically in recent years, as has the network capacity our customers have been asking us to tackle. Adding a 400G switch to our offering is addressing those requirements, whether it’s in the facilities or OB-trucks.”

eMerge will be on show at the NAB Show (Las Vegas, 6-9 April, 2025), in the Networked Live area of Sony’s booth N439.
