You know what, I didn’t and now that you suggest that, it makes perfect sense. I was trying to do square pixel at 720×480 and getting interesting results. Thanks Steven.
From what I gather, what happens when you don’t do it as square pixel it makes it anamorphic? ie. required the pixel aspect ration to be stretched. Hence my Quicktime plays it squashed and VLC requires me to switch it to 16×9 mode to correct.
