HI Shaun, can you see the card on your PC ? if yes you can use the program memory cardrecovery ( just google it )to get your mts files back.

HI , the Sony HXR NX5 works fine, I have the camera since May and it works just fine,I just had recently a small problem when my sdhc card cat. 6 had a breakdown,due to some chain reaction of my hand 😉 but I could get 99 percent of my files back with a program called cardrecovery…. so no worries about that.

I never had any problems losing any footage during shootings. The HXR NX5 works pretty reliable.
According to a SONY SPAIN TECH-SUPPORT ( i live in spain) the warranty +extended is only valid when you buy the HXR NX5 in the designated selling area…e = europe, p= southeast asia

I think the compact flash are more for foto cameras… I use for my hxr nx5 a sdhc integral ultimapro card cat.6 !!minimum!!! and a sony memory stick produo mark2…

I have a slot for memory cards in my notebook. when you go to cardrecovery.com you can buy the program called cardrecovery
if you google cardrecovery you find it to.

It’s quite easy to use you put the card into the slot ..the installed programm recognizes the various disks/input storage devices connected…choose the memory card , in my case the shdc and follow the steps according to the manual.
you have to choose with what type of camera you have shot the cuts/movies …and it will recover the mts files too.
I used the newest version.
it’s quite samll and very powerful.

I think it’s sufficient if you connect the camera with the card to get the same results, though I haven’t tried that.

thank you for your prompt reply. Finally I found a small program called cardrecovery…..and works very well I could get all my videos back.
I live in Spain….. but for the detail I write what told me SONY EUROPE and I hope you pass NOT through similar surprises as I did.
When I called the Sony Support TECH SPAIN they let me know as the camera was bought online from Singapur they will not help as it’s a professional product they only deal with it when it was bought in Europe … wtf???? I wish I had known that before.
ONLY CONSUMER products have a worldwide assistance ..apparently professional sony products not…. so they refered me to the online shop where I bought the camcorder.
but for now everything is solved. 🙂
