OK, I edited the bit rate to 13,000,000 but when I change the Frame size to High definition (1440×1080) the rendered file has black bars on each side.

The 1440×1080 raw footage from my camera fits the whole screen in 16×9 ratio.

When I choose the AVCHD 1440×1080 60i template, the field order slot is not highlighted so I can’t change it. The only way I can render it is as 1920×1080 30p. I want to render it it as 1440X1080 30p

    Also, I can’t choose 13,000,000 because the only choices are 192,000 384,000 768,000 4,000,000 10,000,000 15,000,000 26,000,000.

    I’ve already tried that.

There are no templates with 1440x1080p.

And no templates with 1300 mps.

I was under the impression that the CUDA cores worked “with” the CPU. If I checked “using CPU if available” the CUDA cores would add rendering power in addition to the CPU.

So what you are saying is that you can render with the CPU or the GPU but not both at the same time?

How do you know it doesn’t recognise your CUDA cores?
    How would you know?

I thought the CUDA cores worked with the CPU as added “extra power” for rendering.

<“Did you read somewhere that a GTS450 would be faster than a QuadCore CPU? I haven’t seen anyone get faster renders in Vegas from their GPU.”>

Well I thought that was the whole point of CUDA cores.

The original video card I was going to get had 16 CUDA cores.
I was told the more CUDA cores the better. So I went with the GTS450 which has 192. The guy who sold it to me said he gets about 50% better render times with his 64 CUDA core card.

    I’m using a Phenom quad-core 3.2.
Yes, the video card has 1 GB of DDR5.

I bought this card because the CUDA cores are supposed to DECREASE rendering times with Sony Vegas.

    John,

    Thanks for the replies.

Doesn’t Vegas need to know what kind of video it is working with?

If there is no template for AVCHD how does Vegas know it is AVCHD and not HDV?

AVCHD and HDV have different compression algorithms? I would think that Vegas would process them differently.

When I click the match media setting button it opens the HDV 1080-60i (1440×1080, 29.970 fps) template. Can I use a HDV template for a AVCHD project?
