One question, however. Can I use the create camera archive function in FCPX instead of Shotput Pro to make the archive drive?

AVCHD at 1080i

I made the archive in order to clear space off the camera hard drive.

Late 2009 iMac with intel Core i7 processor @ 2.8 GHz with 12 GB RAM.

Takes probably at least 10 minutes or more to load the archive from my external drive.
