Thanks for your help. it seems though that Sony pulled the subclip option from VMS 9.0 so that won’t work. i think i did figure out another way (though kinda clunky) by taking the other popular method of cut and pasting the same clip and then rendering just that segment so that i would have a clip that i can zoom in on. after a test, it worked seemlessly without messing with the ratio.
