DAMN!! One of the engineers and I were just about to submit for a trip to your place to solve the problem!
I must admit that the star goes to a couple of our engineers who were waiting to suggest this idea when I came in this morning. Just one of the great advantages of having such direct contact with the entire team.
OK Jim, I don’t want to jinx you but… maybe now you can get back to the reason you bought this darn thing in the first place! 😉

Hey Jim,
Here’s something to check:
– Go to Media 100 Suite > Project Settings > Real Time…
– Is “Play Real Time Effects and Titles at Draft Quality” checked?
– If so, uncheck it and try again.
– If not, let me know so I can “uncheck” my brain and try again;-)~Wick

12.5 was the first Leopard-compatible version of M100, so that answrs that problem.
The .kext error is a different matter. We’ve been trying to nail down this problem recently. Send an email to support@media100.com and I’ll get back to you Monday.

Well Gregg… now that you’ve done my job, it should be pretty easy to check out 😉
I’ll let you know.

[todd mcmullen] “I know I will have to re-digitize my material…”
Will you? If the media’s gone, then of course it’ll need to be re-digitized but if you still have the media available and it links up correctly to the v8.x Programs and Bins, you shouldn’t NEED to re-digitize.
The simple “broad-strokes” explanation of how it should go is as follows:
– Don’t bother with the Project file (the “clapper” icon). Just worry about Programs, Bins and Media files.
– Get those files onto a system running Media 100 Suite. A decent firewire drive should be fine or you can copy the media files to whatever local volume(s) you wish to use for media.
– Create a new Project with the appropriate Media Settings and Media Destinations and then bring the Programs and Bins into the new Project.
– Let the new Project scan the Programs and Bins and link up to the media.
– One more thing to consider before exporting to XML… Media 100 currently cannot export Bins to XML. This is not a big deal though as you can simply drag all clips from a Bin into a new Program, export that Program to XML, then reverse the process when you get it over to FCP.
– So… once all you Programs are ready to go, just start exporting them to XML.
– If FCP is on the same Mac, then all you have to do is open the XMLs in FCP and follow the prompts.
– If FCP is on a different Mac, and depending on how you get the media files to that machine, you may have to do one extra step where you point FCP to the correct location of the media files.
That should be it. Let us know how it works out.

Well I Do have a Christmas cocktail party to go to tonight so I’ll see what I can do 😉

Hmmm… maybe I’m over thinking this. Did you go to: System Preferences > Media 100 Video Out and ensure that it’s set correctly first?

Hey Rich,
it took me most of the day yesterday to eliminate all the variables so I could prove what you already know. One additional thing I did learn is that HD projects are not affected.
To summarize…
Snow Leopard + SD + Cylinders and (some) Spheres = weird results.More on Monday after I’ve heard back from Engineering.

They SHOULD be in your Documents folder. If not, perhaps you’ve got a permissions issue. Are you using an Administrator account?

Wow, this one’s turned into quite the moving target.
I’m pretty sure that Adobe will give you an official shoulder-shrug re: CS3 on Snow Leopard.
I’ll take a look Monday morning.
