    Did you ever get this figured out? I found a solution by daisy chaining my old FIREWIRE 400 cable from my
    HVX200 to an External HD, then using a 400/800 I routed from that HD to another HD, then finally a FIREWIRE 800/800 to my Mac Book Pro. It works!!
