Stray thoughts:
YouTube can offer many suggestions.
Free Audacity software works very well.
Publishing in mono takes half the download bandwidth of stereo, if that’s an issue.
There are free hosting sites available, and of course the (justifiably hated) iTunes. (I choose to pay for a website where all episodes are permanently downloadable – see ballycast.com)
A WordPress blog works very well as an episode-by-episode podcast publishing platform.
Don’t forget to add a good thumbnail to the file as an “album cover”, use mp3tag free software to get all of the metadata the way you want them.
Filezilla free software to upload episodes to the blog.
Standardize episode titles – I do it life this – ballycast-015-2008-04-16.mp3 (podcast name, episode number, date, you may wish to add subject but I do that in metadata)
Cheap newer brand usb microphone works just fine.
You’ll have to figure out how best to record phone interviews, probably.
Periodically “on the air” invite subscriptions, invite interviewees, invite input.

If the interviewee has a webcam, you can use Skype and Movavi Screen Capture (part of video suite I think) to record the call, even if it’s audio only.
Alternatively, for audio only, use Audacity (check your settings in advance) to record what you say and what you hear.

Your friends will always say “very nice”, and they might be surprised that you can shoot and edit at all, but do they know enough to really evaluate it?
Nice shots, IMO, but there’s too much “air” in there – you could trim a lot that doesn’t actually contain action. Tighten it up.

If you want to sell on Amazon or anywhere else you get to choose the sale price, offer the stuff just lower than the lowest listed price. Why would any buyer choose to pay more?

Ask him.
Do you know anyone with a similar skill set? Anyone with similar experience? Who would you suggest, or who would you think of first?
Or, drawing from my son’t current fruitlessjob search (but with great skills not reflected in his work history) are there any younger people who could use a good start, or some nentorship, who might rise to the challenge?

The sources or suppliers of the photos should know what credit language they require.

What would make these conditions worth it for you? Quoting them your hoped-for day rate but pretending it’s your hourly rate? Or possibly a very VERY generous (to you) hourly rate, hoping that it makes up for the onerous conditions? Or dropping the client and never looking back? Work the possibilities out on paper for yourself.

If you expand the details (“show more”) on the youtube page containing the clip, the last line is “License – Standard YouTube License” (or whatever else the license details may be). Find out what the uploader has specified, and maybe even contact the uploader for permission.

Possible that they’re just claiming that without having registered it.

Who in their right mind? Hopefully, not me. But if I were faced with the (possible) following from a client, who knows?
“Look, it’ll be fine, it’s a great idea, shoot it or I’ll take my business to somebody who will.”
“You’re getting paid anyway, now just shoot it.”
“We’re shooting a dozen of these today, I’ll look at it when we’re done and probably we won’t use it”
and the winner for me is … “If the television station doesn’t like it they’ll say so and we’ll use something else.”
