I have that machine with a Quadra 4000. Works ok here. I’m sure a faster GPU would give a higher frame rate.

No you don’t need ML for the Web. But of course I liked to have the best picture possible because you never know if it will be repurposed. Yes you need the card speed and size but on the plus side it is 14bit RAW and you can set the white balance/color balance after you shoot because it is RAW.
But if it is really for the web and nothing else, h.264 is fine.

Do you need 4K? If not, try downloading the MagicLantern 1.2.3 to shoot RAW 14bit. it is amazing.
If you need 4K that’s a different story. Remember, If you shoot 4K and the image is soft, it resolves around the resolution of 1080. Most people don’t realize this. You only get the true benefits of 4K when everything is perfect.

Yes this is what happens with Quicktime only. It doesn’t happen with other file formats. And it only happens when using the export as Quicktime, or applications that use the Quicktime 7 engine.
The file writes as it should, but then starts over at the header and rewrites itself and thats why you are getting the generic QT icon. The file ends up being truncated in size.

I think that’s the dreaded AFP bug where after 4 GB the file gets corrupt. Was an issue rendering out big files in After Effects to SAN as well. I used to have to render to the desktop and then copy to SAN. What OS?

You wrote 29p did you mean 24p?
Mine outputs to 1920×1080 23.976fps as it should. That’s the whole point. How are you testing and confirming it is 59.97?

Try setting your shutter to 1/50 to emulate the 180 (actual 178) degree shutter of a film camera since you are shooting at 24fps.
Also, only shoot with ISO in multiples of 160: 160, 320, 640, 1250 (as there is no 1280). I get no noise at 640 on a 5D mark III. I know this is a different camera but it should be close to the same as far as noise. at 800 with no or very little light you will get noise in the shadows.

Check out the Swit s-1221 series (F, H) of 21.5″ monitors. I’m actually a reseller in Los Angeles. But I started as an end user with their 7″ for shooting. I liked them so much I asked if I could be a vendor.

RAW recording is 14bit with Magic Lantern but only to internal CF cards.
