The blue screen should be at about Key or ½ stop less. Try a smaller aperture. ƒ8 or 11.

Edit the plist for App manager. It is set to run at start up as TRUE. Change it to FALSE and it won’t run at start up or reboot.

I had two interviews recently I went for just to see what’s what out there. I’m in LA. I’m not a kid out of college and have been doing this for a few years 😉
One was $40K a year and the other was $50K. These weren’t for a project. This was for full time staff positions.
It’s where we are at the moment. People want the cheapest, not the most skilled or the best. It seems every job wants to know my rate and could care less about looking at my reel.

Worked all day yesterday in FCP 7.0.3 on a Yosemite 10.10.2 system. Pushed it hard and had no problems. It was as responsive as on 10.6.8 or 10.8.5.

Mov is the Quicktime wrapper. H.264 is the compression scheme. H.264 is highly compressed. Try Magic Lantern and Shoot RAW cinemaDNG. It is a 14 bits uncompressed.

If you take a still image in RAW do you get the same stair stepping? If not then it is H.264 compression in the video. I see the highlights at the top and it looks like compression artifact.
That’s just my best guess.

This fixed the problem.
please walk through these steps, IN ORDER:
• Completely quit App Manager via right+click on Menu bar icon, selecting Quit
• Open Activity Monitor and also stop the “AppManagerHelper” process
• Go to /Library/Cache/Avid/
• Delete the AppManager folder (Which removes up to 4 folders: “Db”, Cache, Downloads and Ex folders)RESTART COMPUTER.

I see those too. Eventually my Macbook Pro will just freeze and I need to do a hard restart.
It should let you turn off at start up as a setting. I had to edit the plist with text wrangler so launch at start up = false,

I guess I should clarify, Media Composer 8.3 doesn’t crash. It works fine. The problem is exclusive to App Manager. I’ve never changed my firewall settings or port settings. One day it just stopped working and won’t sync.
