    Nothing worked. My solution was to wipe the drive clean and start over. Fortunately, I decided years ago to always have a system drive clone…just in case. Well just in case just happened.

    I also started getting the error “XFMpeg2 decoder missing”. (It should be in the Library > Quicktime folder) The canon site told me to delete the xf utility and the plugin for final cut. Did all those and still had the problem.

    If anyone has this problem and manages to solve it, I’d love to hear what the solution is.
