    Thanks for the link Andreas.

For the moment I have exported a .mov from Premiere and fixed it on FCP X but the drop shadows behind the letters are missing.

Will check out the title tools.

Thanks Robin for clarifying that render output from the timeline with Alpha channel is the only way out. Will have to try how this works.

Hi Michael, the subtitles are actual files generated in Premiere and there are lots of them.

I guess resolve is not able to access the folder, I will try to trace and point to it. I have also used some JPEG photos, they have come up on the timeline.

As you suggested I could export it as a .mov file and place it in resolve. Kept that as a last option if this doesn’t work.
thanks for the help and suggestions

Wish to clarify on my earlier post.

The footage shot with the Panasonic GH 4 is recognised and synced perfectly by Plural eyes, however its the FCP 7.0 that’s causing the problem when I try to import the XML. The FCP error message reads- Time base not matching.

I tried importing the same XML on Premiere Pro and it worked perfectly!

Thanks for the information, I was only planning to use a UBUNTU machine for transfer of material from SDXC card to a hard drive. Have been a MAC user since 2005 and I cant afford to buy a Mac book now.

To add to your edit input, LIGHT WORKS has an edit software for UBUNTU and I have heard that there are quite a few people using them.
