Hey Mike…
I got it worked out thanks again…
Like your setup I kept looking in Keyboard commands under tools/scripting/ (figured it would there)… but it was under Script.RemoveLeftEvent
Thanks again…
Steve…
Now Editing with one hand… all right – no comments from the peanut gallery…

Thanks Mike…
It’s actually page 357 in my pdf manual on Vegas 6.0.
And I follow along with most of the keyboard shortcut customizing prefs…
For instance I can set Control-Y to open the Tools/Scripting/RunScript
sequence. But what I would LIKE to do is Run a Specific Script from the shortcut… e.g. Control+Y would start the script for automatically cutting the clip to the Left of the Split.
I can rename the Script so it will appear at the top of the list.
I’ve also added a button to the toolbar to start the script. But I don’t know how to do a keyboard shortcut to that point either….
Sorry for the confusion…
Once I get the Keyboard shortcut figured out… I’ll add it to my ShuttlePro controller… which will just about cover my quick – cutting/editing needs.
Thanks again

July 1, 2005 at 7:20 am in reply to: Video capture window on Vegas is too bright when previewing during capture..Heya Peter…
Thanks for the note… I’ll probably be away from the internet for a week… so if anyone else responds it’ll take me a while to get back to you all…
Yes… I too capture with the preview monitor turned off most of the time. I also don’t preview audio and clear the option box for capturing stills… (but occasionally I don’t have a monitor hooked to the DVCAM deck… just the computer… and if I’m not really familar with the footage it is nice to see the Preview). My home version of Vegas is 4.0… never saw the need to upgrade… but the work version is 5.0… and I’ve been playing with DVD Architect too… If I upgrade I may jump all the way to 6.0, but stability is the thing…
I’m looking for a way to get my Promise controller card and the 1394 chip off of the same PCI bus too… I’ve moved it into most of the 5 available slots but one – (that one is too close the graphics card fan) but I haven’t got that one licked yet… so I just capture to drives on the IDE bus… I’ve also had good luck capturing thru the laptop to external drives…
I’ve gotten occasional dropped frames… which really bugs me… but usually it hasn’t been serious…
Later… and thanks…

June 30, 2005 at 3:47 pm in reply to: Video capture window on Vegas is too bright when previewing during capture..[donatello] “the V capture preview Brightness/contrast/color is controlled by brightness/contrast/color on your monitor ( not your nvidia card) .. your preview window in Vegas is controled by your Nvidia card and the controls on the monitor will also affect it..
you’ll have to find a balance between the 2 .. you might set your nvidia card to a nuetral position. you could either pop up SMPTE color bars in QT or WMP players ( which also are not controlled by nvidia card) and use the monitor controls to set the monitor to bars … i doubt if you can set it up exactly but you should be in the ball park …
pop up SMPTE bars in Vegas preview and then use the nvidia controls to fine tune them ….”
Hey donatello… Thanks for getting back…
It’s not the monitor I don’t believe… The videocapture preview window looks fine until I hit “record” then it goes superbright… The rest of the screen is not bothered… Playback in Vegas is fine as well… (and it’s always worked in the past)…
I mentioned the NVIDIA card because some programs use an overlay to playback Video… not sure exactly what that is or is Vegas even does that…
anyhoo… something else may be up… I’m getting a few dropped frames on capture…
This system is a video production box I use at work… it’s just a few months old… has an Intel motherboard and five or six 250 gig Western Digitals in it… along with a Seagate SATA for the System… lot’s o’ RAM…
