Does it work with the focusrite setting? Yes, I notice I also have problems when I run other applications simultaneously.

Changing the audio hardware setting seems to have the best effect.

Also, sometimes the playback is faster and plays in fast motion.

It went back to not working. For some reason the playback is very unstable.

I put the files onto my CPU harddrive and they play fine. I remember that I had a similar issue when I put files onto the same external harddrive when using FCP X. I am ordering an external harddrive that uses Firewire.

    Thanks a bunch,

I changed the audio hardware default device to “Built-in Input/Built-in Output” and that did the trick. I also exited all other windows. Let’s see for how long it keeps working.

[Chris Tompkins]“What computer are you on?
What video files are you working with?
What hard drive is the media playing off of?”

I’m on a MacBookPro Version 10.6.8, 2 GHz Processor, 4 GB RAM memory.

The video files are type: P2 Movie, image size: 960 x 720, frame rate: 23.976. I’m also working with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop files.

The files are coming from an external hard drive connected by USB 2.0.

    Thanks,
    Victor

[Keith Koby]“Hi. We are in NYC, we use it extensively (yes – for real work!), and we hire freelancers who know how to use it.”

Thanks! It’s good to know that FCP X is used in NYC.

It seems like you can get the job done faster with FCP X but there seems to be issues when working with tape and exporting certain formats.
