Hi Patrick, great instructions. thanks for sharing. I’m glad to finally come across someone who has resolved this problem using the same equipment and software. Unfortuantely I have not (yet) enjoyed the same success…
I’ve not been able to process the .mts files even after saving them to my computer. You refer to a “Canon Video Folder” but I’m not sure whether you are referring to a folder you created for transfered .mts files or whether you copied the “CANON” folder directly from your camera’s hard-disk directory. On my camera the .mts files are located in the “BDMV” folder. so I guess my question is: which specific files or folders did you transfer to your computer in order for FCP6 to recognize the clips?
Finally I’ve learned it’s better to save original video clips on a separate external scratch disk. Did you log and transfer .mts files on an external drive? I guess I will try this once I manage to load at least one .mts file successfully..
many thanks for your feedback!
