Hey Allen, sorry I’m getting back to you so late.

I’ve apparently been rendering to “Untitled.” Hmmm…I missed the specially-suited DVD Architect templates…That explains a lot. I suppose that should have been common knowledge, but I missed it, so thanks a lot for that advice!

As long as I’m here, I’m planning on purchasing the JVC GY-HD100U 720p camcorder. What steps would I need to go through in order to ensure that the video would look its absolute best for capture and render? There are so many templates to choose from! (The JVC is a 24p camera.) As I look at the templates, I don’t see any that would be fitting for a 720p camera…they look to be all standard definition aspect ratios, but I suppose you can just type in the aspect ratio you want in the settings (in that case 1280 x 720) right?

    Thanks much!

    Tyler

Yes, I most likely did something wrong there. I believe that when I rendered the video, then rendered the audio, I renamed the file for the audio without thinking. That must have been the problem.

Thanks Brett. So what’s the difference between Core 2 Duo and Dual Core, if I was to buy a laptop with such a processor? Additionally, obviously a PC is going to have many more options for a solid HD editing system, but for a potentially mobile individual, what laptop would come close for a reasonable price as far as a speedy editing machine is concerned?

My reasoning for rendering twice, was because when I would go to burn the project, the warning message that came up even after I rendered the video to MPEG-2 format, stated that the audio track would need compression.

    Thanks for the reply.
I figured it out finally. I rendered the audio and video from the movie separately. Audio I rendered as AC-3 (5.1 surround) and video I rendered MPEG-2 and put them together in Architect. It may have been a roundabout way, but it burned with no compression. Is there any loss of quality from the standard video you capture from the camera and MPEG-2? I feel like MPEG-2 is a bit of a hinderance on video quality, maybe it’s just me…Having an old Sony DCR-HC30 680,000p video camera can’t help I suppose..

    Thanks again,
    Bless,
    Tyler.

Wow. That was fast. Both your reply and the new playback of the clip! (As sappy as that sounds.) Thanks a lot, I truly appreciate it!
    In Christ,
    Tyler.

Yes, and I actually thought it would work, but it did not, that’s why I thought that maybe it was something like a button I accidentally pressed that got rid of it…
