For anyone still trying to solve this issue, as I imagine it happens to people all the time, I actually just developed my own free piece of software to recover these 0kb files caused by power loss with ease! I work in the wedding industry and have had multiple friends lose data in this way. When it happened to me, and I was able to recover my files, I decided to make it a universal tool to help them out! It’s a really straightforward gui application, so no need to use the terminal.

Thus far I’ve only tested it on files from a Tascam DR-40, however it should theoretically work on the majority of audio recording devices that record to an SD card. Try it out and let me know if it works! And if not, let me know. I’d love to make it more universal and tweak it to help you out!
