Hey thanks for the replies. This is a weird glitch.

The same issue still persists but I accidentally discovered that after rendering both title clips then changing the incorrect one to the way it should be(open text edit and hit apply) and rendering again it works.
However, there’s a small overlap with the clip on V2 and the other on V3 as the names(left aligned) and the music(centered) scroll. During this brief overlap the clip on V2 takes on the centered attribute from the clip above it like they’re connected in some way.

It’s like this:

FIRST NAME
OTHER NAMES
MORE NAMES
EVEN MORE NAMES
LAST NAME
***then when the music clip on V3 scrolls onto the timeline the names bump out and center themselves instead of justifying to the left and the music is centered as it should be.

We solved my last question through trial and error, there’s probably an easier method but although a bit tedious it wasn’t too time consuming to highlight everything then unhighlight what we wanted to leave it’s attributes intact.

Shane(or anyone), to ensure our settings were correct when we created the high quality version will you confirm we populated all the fields correctly?

There are 2 areas of concern, but being the first time using AVCHD it’d be great if you check all our settings and let us know what you think.
Areas of concern are…
In Audio Video Settings, Capture Preset:
Is DVCPRO HD – 1080pA24 below correct for ProRes 422(HQ) or should it be HDV Apple ProRes 422(HQ), or something else??
And in the Sequence:
We used 1920×1080 HDTV 1080i(16:9)… why HDTV and not one of the other HD settings. Why is it saying only 1080i when the camera is supposed to produce 1080p?

Our FCP settings are as follows:

Audio Video Settings:
Sequence Preset: Apple ProRes 422(HQ) 1920×1080 24p 48 kHz
Capture Preset: DVCPRO HD – 1080pA24
Device Control: Non-Controllable Device
Video Playback: Digital Cinema Desktop Preview – Main
Audio Playback: Default

Log & Transfer Preferences:
AVCHD – Apple PreRes 422(HQ)

Media Manager:
Apple ProRes 422 1920×1080 24p 48 kHz

Sequence:
1920×1080 HDTV 1080i (16:9)
Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square ….Anamorphic 16:9 is NOT checked.
Field Dominance: None
Editing Timebase: 29.97
Compressor: Apple ProRes 422(HQ)

***Our main footage was shot in AVCHD 24 frames per second in the highest quality on a Panasonic AG-HMC40.

Hey Shane, you’ve been a great help!

Removing Basic Motion and Distort fixed it… I don’t know how/why these were even applied as someone else was monkeying around with those settings in the first place.

One final question for you… on our video tracks we have titles, subtitles, animation, even video from other sources(old DV and a different format consumer level HD cam).

Is there an easy way to apply these changes to the parts we want without including subtitles/titles/etc.? Removing Basic Motion on the subtitles pops them into the middle of the picture for example, to reapply the motion to each subtitle would take 3 days full time!

Hey thanks, that worked very well… a few clips and sound effects didn’t come along but almost everything else did!

One other question though I hope you can help with…

In the FCP viewing window, the original clips had subtitles that were set up in a specific spot on each clip and each clip filled the FCP preview window.
After converting everything over to high resolution(1920×1080(HQ) ProRes422 24P) the clips no longer fill the FCP view window. The new window is much larger than the original and the subtitles seem like they’re in the same place relative to the window but the video itself is squished into the middle instead of filling the area. Any idea why this would happen? Thanks.
