Until then, try a hard reset. Turn the power switch off. Hold the menu button for 7 seconds. Then power back up.
Check your media: unapproved media can cause these problems
Also, reformat the media for each project.

Hello Craig,
I only know the ATH-M40 and the 7506. The ATH-M40 don’t have the extended high frequencies of the 7506.
The ATH-M40 are larger than the MDR7506 so they take up more space.
Both are closed back.

65, 66, 67 makes no difference. They’re still student grade versus the MKH series.
That’s why the MKH series costs more. That’s not snobbery, it’s a fact. Why is that so difficult to believe?
This forum is pretty much a “no BS zone.”
If you buy an MKH50 it’ll remain relevant long after several iterations of future cameras you buy are in the dumpster.
You can buy the right mic once, or buy one then, when your ears wake up, realize you needed a mic that costs more. Then you need to buy the better mic and you’ve wasted money on the first one. And, every piece of audio you recorded with the student model will have been of lesser technical quality. If that’s OK with you, then, by all means, go for it.

Matt,
Have you done any firmware upgrades of the recorder since you bought it? That may have changed the appetite of your recorder.
If you bought that card very cheaply, it could be a counterfeit card.
I’d check the Tascam web site for a forum or reach out to their technical support.
If you can put the card back into the recorder and play out the audio to another device, that may get you home.

Maybe it’s a bonus with HDX. I by-pass the analog front end with better preamps and A/D conversion, but I’m running barefoot with a DIGI 003R.

Sounds like a corrupt audio file or maybe a card issue. Did you reformat the card before recording? Is this card on their list of OK cards to use?

You can import a video clip with audio into Pro Tools, but just one clip at at time.
When you’re done you export them back and they are together.

Ty Ford, I carry the receiver, Zoom H4n and headphones on me. I move around the room with a 4th camera to get reaction shots and creative angles on the speaker, while also double checking that the other 3 cameras are recording well on their tripods. So, the Zoom is the “mixer” and I listen to the audio to ensure all is well. I guess to keep the receiver closer to the transmitter, I could set it up in a nearer place and maybe ask someone to keep the headphones on. However, I don’t always have this luxury.
If you are walking around the room and it’s full of people, many of whom have smart phones, they can be causing the problem. In addition, your body may be blocking the signal from getting to the receiver.
Anytime the path between transmitter and receiver changes, something bad may happen. If the person walks around on stage and you’re walking at the same time past someone who has a particularly problematic cell phone. You might hear drop outs and fitzes.
The problem can be worsened by the presenter also wearing their phone, unless it’s completely off.
