Ok. Just be sure that you set your loop point when you want the buttons to become active. Good luck.

After speaking to a Encore guru, I got my menu to work. What I wasnt understanding was that the Loop Point is where the buttons become active. In my case, I had a 19 second sound clip and a 22 second animation. I had to go back into AE and lengthen the 22 second intro to 1 minute. So, my first play now played the intro with sound and gave about 30 seconds of silence after that. By that time, the watcher is going to press one of the menu buttons (Play movie, etc).

I also had to make another main menu that one would access by pressing the main menu button while navigating the dvd. There would be nothing more annoying than pressing Main Menu and having to watch that first play opening every time.

So, lengthen your menu video and make the buttons (loop point) active when you want them to be. There will be a quick black screen when it does switch to the static main menu but most people will not ever see that because they arent going to sit there and watch the menu animation end and sit there doing nothing. You can make it last 2 minutes if you want.

You are having the same problem I am having. I posted a thread just above yours so keep an eye out for it. First off, the last frame of you animation has to match the static menu. Second, you must delete every layer of every item except your subpicture layers. Then you will have what you want but you will be having the same problem as me. Read my thread.

Maybe you wont have the same problem I am having. It should work.

Right. I want the last second to stay on the scene forever until a button is selected. What am I doing wrong? Encore will not let me choose the last frame. It seems to want a second or so as the looping point.

I would click the Show Routing Buttons tab and see what it shows. If it looks ok, I would right click each button and convert to object and then right click again and convert to button again. Something might have gone screwy along the way and this would let you start fresh. Should take a minute or two.

I use Encore 2.0 and I see nothing mentioned about choosing a chapter end action. I wish it was possible. I have a 45 minute full documentary with 25 chapter points. I hate navigating to a chapter point and then it plays the rest of the chapters until the end.

Since this is a documentary, I want the movie to be able to be played from beginning to end, if desired. So, on the main menu, I have a Play Movie button. That should play through to the end unless I hit stop.

On the 2 Scene Selection menus that I have created, I want to be able to click on any chapter I want and have it return to the same menu and highlight the next chapter.

When I click on the TIMELINES and choose the video, I see the chapters listed below. If what you say works, I should be able to click chapter 1, go to the properties and set the end action to be to
Scene Selection 1, and end up on the next chapter title on the screen.

I tested it by previewing the Scene Selection Menu and selecting the first chapter. It played and it did return to the menu. That was great. The problem is when I clicked on Play Movie on the main menu to watch the entire video, it returned to the Scene Selection menu after the first chapter was finished. That is no good to me.

So, figuring I did something wrong, I clicked on the MENUS tab and click on scene selection menu, I see all of the chapters listed in the box below it. In th eporperties box, there is a link (which points to the actual chapter) and an overide box. No end action option.
    What am I doing wrong?

You probably have the end action set to stop.
