i figured out how. say i want to change the color of the sky to already corrected/graded footage. i duplicated the track and masked out the sky. i left apply to fx off since i just want the sky overlaying in the other track. i brought some clouds back into the shot. could someone explain to me the difference in opacity and the slider on the video track? do the do they same thing? also, i noticed the order of the video tracks has an effect on the overlay. my masked clouds have to be on top for them to appear. is this the proper way of doing this or can i change the composition settings for each track? and how does the parent and child buttons effect the overlay?

if you watch near the end he masks out the pond so that the color match doesn’t effect the rocks and grass. what if you wanted to have control over the grass and rocks while the pond still has the masked effect. say i wanted the pond real blue and do something else with the grass

I think I figured it out. I did all kinds of tests and I found right off the bat before i do anything to the footage i add levels computer to studio rgb. render. looks perfect. i did some testing while adding contrast and effects. turns out that putting the levels at the end of the channel chain is the best. it will give you exactly what you see in the preview window with levels off. is this the only way to do this?

Im a little confused on the srgb and crgb. My camera is set to srgb. Im assuming it records video in Srgb. So when i render an mp4 it renders crgb?. So i add the levels plugin and switch crgb to srgb and the image will look flatter in the preview but the end result will keep my details in shadows and highlights? I should add this at the end of the chain in my video ch plugins?

the default settings are average 8mb and max 10mb i believe. i could be wrong. in the video i posted he bumps it way up to 75. also, on the render settings on vegas 12 main concept youtube preset there is a slider adjustment labeled “number of” and it is default to 4 i believe. do you know what this adjustment is for? thanks for the response!
