I am running vista I dont know if that could be the problem. When I open a saved file I get the error an exception occured and it shuts down. I have one file I can open but when I go to render it I get an error memory is to low but I checked that and It is not. The main thing is I dont want to lose what I have and start over.

I tried a reinstall but that didnt help. I downloaded the 120 dollars version of vegas and seem to have no problems rendering or making a long movie. For some reason in vegas pro when I open a saved project I get the error exception occured and it shuts down. One of my videos I can open but If I try to do anything to it shuts down on me. My video is comprised of some film from memory cards some for mini dvds. It also seems to take alot of memory when I load a saved video

My video is direct from the camera I am using standard definition video from a sony handycam. I import my video and then drag it to the timeline is that the way to do it. Do you down size your video before you put them on the timeline if so what program do you use and does it affect your quality.

I have tried the .bak file and it seems to do the same thing.
I dropped the video on the timeline like a clip and so far that worked but when I tried to render I only got about half the movie. I am going to try it again. I have read a couple of forums with people having the same error message. I wonder if sony vegas pro 8 has some problems that have not been worked out. I am using windows vista maybe that could be the problem.

This has happened to me before I will tell you one place to look. Move your start task bar at the bottom of windows to either the left or right side of your screen and look to see if it was under it. This is were I found mine. It looked like it was flying off the screen but that is were it went.

I am filming motorcross riding but I am using a sony handycam recording to a pro duo memory stick. Some video I shoot has good quality and some doesn’t. I guess this is not the greatest camera in the world to try to get great quality out of. But I noticed the introduction titles that I made get a little blurry when watching on a tv.

Thanks for the response. Is there any tips or tricks to keep the video quality good when working with dv.
