Haha… Im clinging onto them for sure. Oddly, some sequences still display the media even without the file existing.

I will be exporting everything tonight without a doubt!

Profound relief is what I felt when I received my hard drive and found that my work still existed.

Absolute devastation is what I’ve experienced when I lost irreplaceable footage, and no amount of work or reshooting could get it back.

This is mere frustration. In reality I’m trying to be more adept with media manager, and if there was something I was missing, I would have been happy to learn it, as it would save a lot of time. Even if I had lost everything entirely, this one wouldnt be the end of the world.

That said, you can look at it like this:

Well, thats what i ended up doing, but it would have been nice if i could have gotten the recconect media function to work somehow. The video itself isnt of the “irreplaceable” sort, but either way im glad it worked out. O wosh there was a way to “force connect” or somwthing. Now on to the other 15 :-/

Hey guys I have an add-on question.

I have now gone through every single file that I’ve created…. these are all short videos on MMA instruction. I have them broken down into three project files, close to about 200 sequences.

I am nervous about the “delete unused media” aspect of media manager. Obviously I can’t copy the media exactly as is… without it cutting this down, I’m not saving any space. However, some clips that I’ve used might be cut up into 30 different project files. If I media manage some sequences, but end up leaving some out, will media manager end up deleting portions of clips that are needed in other projects?

Basically, I need ONLY the portions of the clips that I have now organized to be copied, but I don’t want to have anything deleted. I am turning 3 drives into 1… but I want the 3 drives to be sitting around as backups. I simply want to be able to use only one drive and know that if the shit really hits the fan, I have myself covered.

Very interesting… When i export, do i have to select anything specifically to make this possible or is it automatically the way it should be.

Are you suggesting that i should be using the format from old school TV? Forgive my retardation.

The reason that I was choosing a data rate is because I don’t want to burden a crappy internet speed and then end up having to refund someones money. I like numbers, because if you abide by them sometimes, you can’t go wrong.

I don’t know what interlace and deinterlace means. Is there any way that you could explain that for me?

Man, that is very useful! Here I am beating myself up that the thing doesn’t look good at less than 1000 kbps!

I am exporting in both 640×360 so they have a low bandwidth option, AND 1280×720 in case they want something and larger on the screen.

I can’t really tell the difference between 1000kbps and 1500 but I think that I’ll go with 1500 just in case.

I have to pay for this data, and in a perfect world, I will have millions of people watching! I guess at that point, a little data transfer cost won’t bother me at all.

Regardless, I feel better knowing that I didn’t screw up royally. Its just odd because on the video that I did with a higher quality setting, 1280×720 actually looks fine at 512 kbps… it’s just the lower camera quality setting that has become the problem.
