So these projects you want to find, are they in iMovie of FCP X?
Actually regardless of the App, they both will store projects/events in two types of locations:
– Startup Drive. A users Movies folder. iMovie Projects, Final Cut Events or Final Cut Projects
– Other drives: At the root of the drive, iMovie Projects, Final Cut Events or Final Cut ProjectsIf they are not there, they were apparently moved so just search for those and you’ll find em.

I think I see what is happening:
I believe I had a similar issue, wrote up a bug report to Apple and then realized I had another edit in there. Ate crow.
Expanded audio is very powerful and flexible, and can be confusing too.

FWIW, we have a pretty simple workflow that might be of interest:
1 – Copy footage from solid state media to a “Media Archive Drives”. These are sata drives connected via a esata dock or “toaster.” Once one fills up we put it in storage and plug in another. (For tape based media, we create archives from FCP X again to a “Media Archive Drive”.)
2 – Then we import that footage onto our esata RAID into FCP X with “copy to event” enabled (for tape based we would then use Import Archive to bring in the footage to our FCP X event on the Raid.)It works surprisingly well, we have a secure backup (although we should really have duplicate copies of that Media Archive Drive, and the media manages itself. We have moved projects to external drives for offsite editing and it is a pleasure to simple move the FCP X event and project and not have to worry about any links.
Another benefits is brining in additional stills, footage, SFX. We just drag it right to the timeline and it will not only be in the timeline, but also automatically copied to the event. I wish ever app would do this with linked files!
No matter who expensive storage media is, it is insignificant compared with what it would cost to reshoot a project.

Regarding the original post and the “Foozball” search issue, turns out the Search Box in the event browser ONLY searches for names of clips and their notes, not keywords.
I confirmed this on page 101 of “Apple Pro Training Series: Final Cut Pro X”.
I couldn’t find this in the online help, but the above training is the closest manual there is at the time.

Now that you mention it, my daily crashing has stopped too.
However, I have found a few things that can crash it for sure:
– a corrupt font
– a really large PSD (this only happened on one file but is reproducible)
– Camera Raw files on certain machines (My MacBook Pro for example crashes on a camera raw, the MacPro has no problem with it)
– Low Memory. Well I don’t know if it really crashed or I just became impatient.However, with that said I would call Apple. They should be able to help.
