Hi there old colleague? If not, ignore that. What I’ve done to down convert to SD and still maintain letterbox is to output “using compressor”, and once in compressor, choose DV-NTSC as the format to convert to. Once you’ve applied the DV-NTSC format to your item, go into your settings, and I believe it’s on the last page of options, choose the one that allows you to letterbox it down to 16:9 for SD (unfortunately, I don’t have a Mac at home, so I can’t tell you exactly). Once your item has been converted, re-import back into FC, make a copy of your original HDV timeline, and replace the video portion into the copy with the SD letterboxed video. I hope it helps -Tony
