I have to say Chris, the latest update is a game changer for X. The ability to be able to color code those roles is great on it’s own but added with the “Lanes” it couldn’t be any clearer where things are. With these changes they have the best of both worlds. The organization of tracks with the flexibility that the connected clips gives you when you want to move things around.
The new Workspaces are great. There are now so many different ways to work. Extending the inspector the full length, the sorting view, the grading view (I love), and variations on those.
I liked it before, but it’s a long way from where it started.

I was just curious if you were telling him how to do his job from personal experience of doing what you told him to do yourself, or from an assumption that you could do it better if you ever had the chance to do it in real life, instead of in your head.

I know, but that wasn’t what you said at first.
You just needed to clarify that’s all.

Yes, I am. I just wanted you to clarify that statement because before
you said “that NOTHING can be changed about a file”

Oliver, I’m not sure if I’m understanding this statement correctly, but I often will select a photo in the timeline, open the original file in the finder with a keyboard shortcut, drag the file into photoshop, make corrections and save, and jump back into X. Not only do I not have to relink the file but my changes have already updated in the timeline.
I do this because I don’t want to waste time correcting a lot of photos that I’m not going to use in the project.
So I’m changing the file drastically in that case with no problem.

I don’t know if I would say things are “missing”, I just prefer working with titles within the canvas instead of the title tool opening up in a separate window. I also like how you can hover over a motion title and see how that will look directly in the canvas. This is all just personal taste. Pr is very capable of handling titles.
