Yes. Remember all those compression options you had on export? The different size options.
Heck you could even put filters in and sharpen the image. I still have it in the doc..

I agree that this would be great to have for grading in another app, but I don’t know how useful it would be for me in archiving a doc. In my doc the largest files were the interviews. I interviewed people for hours and I would want access to everything they said (even though I only used bits). I like how I can save only the people who were in the film because I really don’t need people who weren’t. After keeping my interviews of interest, my Library would be smaller but not to the extreme that yours was. In your case Shane it’s a game changer.
When I looked at the youtube clip for Worx4 X it had 1369 views and 6 comments after being up there for 2 years. I wonder how many they sold and if they made enough money for it to payoff.

X will give you the project with only the source material you used in the cut without a third party app. I’m guessing that’s what most use to simply archive a project. This app looks more useful for setting you up to move your project to another app but for simply saving space archiving, do I really need it?

Yes Shane, that’s what I want. I copy the “project” to a new library that I place on a hard drive and only source material from “the cut” is in that library and it’s a lot smaller.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding?

I’ve been in many of folk’s homes who had their screens set to mud, and I know plenty watching on pads, so he has a point there.
I feel like I felt the way the director wanted me to feel watching it. Pretty amazing.

They are really trying their best to copy X, and I don’t blame them for that. In order to do a lot of adjustments looks like you have to jump back to the edit page. I wouldn’t want to do that myself. Jumping back and fourth. I would rather just stick with the X timeline and do everything I need all in the same page.
It’s funny how when X made that timeline it was seen as dumb to many, and now that R 16 is trying to do it it’s fine : )
It’s a nice program but as some have pointed out, most folks are pretty happy with their current NLE and don’t have a big enough reason to learn something else.
So happy in fact, that this little “debate” page has died down. Not much really to debate anymore, as many have moved on from this forum.

I think at this point if it were me I would teach AVID or PrP, because there are arguably 3 top NLE’s and if you learn a track-based one you give them a handle on 2 out of the three, vs X (that is pretty different) would give you 1 of three.
X right now thrives in the “Independent” Market. People who are calling their own shots. If you are a recent grad you are likely not ready to do that, so you will be working for someone else where tracks thrive.
The other note is, young folks just want to watch Youtube all the time. They don’t watch that many films or even sports on TV.
Just Youtube, and many of those YT stars are 1. Independent and 2. Using XI wonder how many of them see themselves doing that. Having a ton of viewers and 5 or 6 iMac Pros that studios I work for don’t even have.
Not sure what the future of TV and Film will look like in 20 years.

Depends on how you look at it. I screened my film in Berlin last year and I had never been to Europe in my life. I used my “mobile computing device” to promote my film on Instagram and other platforms. To let people know my film was there and to see history face to face. To find my way to the Berlin wall, or to figure out how long it would take for me to get from Auschwitz to Oscar Schindler’s factory when I got to Poland.
As I posted my travels people asked how I knew about all those places and if someone booked them for me. No, I used my “phone”.
The only thing that made me “sad” were the crimes against humanity that I saw.
