No excuse for not using simple creative lighing to accomplish an easy backlight shot.

Sure you can try to fake it in post with green screen but without creative lighting to mold and model the light (ie rim and backlight) who cares?

In this day of digital whiz bang plug in’s have we forgot the old school techniques of effective “analog lighting” or is the craft and skill set missing in many of the newer baby digital boomers?

no you cannot since native dvcproHD is not 1920×1080 but for 720 and 1080 anamorphic recording the firewire outputs from the 1200A or 1400 vtr’s will allow a firewire ingestion workflow.

Their is no such classification as a almost full time freelancer/contractor as that would be defined as a part time employee. The IRS will not see you as a freelancer and even in your case where you are steadily working for the client weekly you may have already lost your contractor status depending on certain criteria.

In your case you will most likely get screwed setting yourself up as a “salaried” employee working for days in which you are not paid for your time.

It is quite simple because a freelancer has one simple commodity to sell “TIME!!” henceforth anytime regardless of the amount when you are working for the benefit of the client this is to be considered “billable” time.

Why should you allow your client’s accounting department inability to plan ahead and budget correctly effect you in a negative way?

Tell them to create an estimated budget based on the prior year and if the workload increases then use the f@#$%ing contigency which should have been factored into the budget per project.

Case closed.

With all due respect Johnny is quite correct and in addition your numerical values mean nothing because you do not know if they are master reference numbers or offsets.

I won’t go into a detailed explanation as it is clear the producer is more interested in a BS match and not a dead on which is irrevelant because one camera shoots 1080P whereas the other one does not natively.

But I guess that is really beside the point.

One last item is it possible to drop a motor from a Ford Taurus into my Ford F150 truck? Afterall they are made by the same manufacturer so they should be close right? Yeah I guess sort of like what is possible with HD cameras.

vitc timecode is outside of the active video area and is usually only visible in underscan mode on your monitor.

So there should be no need to hide it.

Or are you referring to burned in timecode on screen as in visible timecode?

Is the material a window dub or footage that contains timecode reference? Why the need to hide it are you using it for an offline and later will replace with the original source material?
