First and foremost please hire an experienced on line editor who can comply with all the necessary broadcast specs or else you will get your program rejected.
If you are doing the work yourself you need to consider hiring a qualified video engineer who can guide you through the specifics on how to properly meet broadcast specs.
You really need to be shown how to properly determine proper video levels via a waveform monitor which is fundamental to the entire process.
For some background on how to read a waveform monitor I suggest visiting the Textronix’s website and search around for their informational papers on the subject of understanding the use of a waveform/vectorscope as well as video levels etc.
Good luck,

Where you the one selling a Varicam?
Why did you choose to go with the HDX-900 instead of holding onto the Varicam?
Focusing on what a person can afford to buy was not the point of my previous posting regarding checking out the 900R or anyother camera head for that matter. Don’t forget the massive rental market which exist to allow tailoring a specific need with a specific piece of equipment.
Understanding what different feature sets are available on various camera models in fundamental when you work with numerous cameras/formats regularly.

No dude what I meant is the concept is so generic it has already been done in some form or fashion.
Just fill in the blanks with any movie title that fits the genre was my point.
In anycase don’t let that discourage you if you really want to do the project.

I think this error would be filed under “Asleep at the wheel”?

Is it not unprofessional to capture unfavorable activities on tape which could be used against you if the client were to see the footage?
Maybe next time you will avoid shooting such footage?

Hypergamma is a feature on the 900R which many need to see to appreciate.

Redflag,
Varicam always record timecode based on 60 frame recording regardless of what the camera has been set to (ie 24,25 or 60p etc). Actual timebase is 29.97.
FYI you never want to mix timecode frame rates on the same tape back to back which could occur on a Sony camcorder to avoid post issues later (ie record at 25P then switch to 60i).
