If you select the sequence in the browser and press Cmd-9 it gives you the item properties for the sequence. You can also, if you’re in the timeline, go to Sequence>Settings and see what it says there.

This is not a video size. You should make the stills into a video size that matches your sequence if possible, What are the sequence item properties? I can’t see your computer.

How big is the logo? Does the JPEG fill the frame? The back is probably transparency.

The item properties of your sequence. Select the sequence in your browser and press Cmd-9. What does it say? It would also help to know the frame resolution of the JPEGs. Is this stills only in the project? Are they all the same frame resolution?

What are the exact item properties of your sequence? If you export to 16:9 you need to make sure the size is set correctly especially if you’re working in an anamorphic sequence.

This is a correction. The image on the left is the QT Movie export. This is the raw image in 720×480. Open it in the QT7 player. Go to movie properties Cmd-J and set the aperture to clean I think it is. This will show you the video in 16:9. But you don’t have to do that. You take the exported QT Movie into Compressor and make your H.264 square pixel widescreen image for the web there. Either that or you export to QuickTime Conversion and set the frame size there.

DV NTSC is 720×480 always. Period. Doesn’t matter if it’s 4:3 or 16:9. It’s always 720×480. Anamorphic means the 16:9 image is squeezed into the 720×480 frame. If you look at the raw 720×480 frame it looks squeezed, because it is. It is designed to be played back stretched out to 16:9. All this is explained in far greater detail on wiki or other sources of basic information about video formats.

Sequence are created with a certain set of specifications which you define in sequence settings under A/V settings in the FCP menu. The media has certain specifications. Whatever it is that was shot and captured. The two have to match.

This will export 720×480 anamorphic. If you want it for the web you export 853×480 or some other 16:9 setting.

If your media and your sequence settings match no rendering is required. A title should be in realtime. You might have to render for output but very few titles need rendering for playback.
