I think you have the answer George. I told you I’m a beginner. I just want this thing to be viewed on a DVD as shot, with a few cuts done in Vegas. I haven’t even put up any menus, nor do I know how. When the sample appeared I deleted it. Perhaps It still sees it. How do I check the video assets, as you are suggesting?
I’m trying to learn this program on my own, but I can’t find a tutorial
that starts from scratch. Thanks for bearing with me.

    Heelo Mike,
Yes, when I was with my client choosing the spots we wanted. At that time, I heard sound distortions and I hoped I could straighten them up. I also have a backup recording that I could dub in. Does it sound possible that my assumption is correct, that the sound problem is preventing it to capture??? I ran a copy tape and tried that to no avail.

thanks Danny, I have tried this on a Sony VX 1000 and a
Sony FX 1, same results. I captured with Windows movie maker, but couldn’t find the file when I went back to Vegas. Is the quality OK with movie maker?? In Adobe Premier I used to be able to capture either/or. Thanks so much for taking the time with me. Tom
