EDIT: Nevermind — pretty new to the Adobe Media Encoder and overlooked the Codec Settings area below where you choose the Video Codec. Setting those to 32 bit solved the grain problem. Obviously, the default 8 bit wasn’t going to look good.

I’ve also noticed the graininess of the Animation codec exported out of Adobe Media Encoder – even at 100%. Used to frequently use this as my standard intermediate codec, but it’s unusable as exported by Premiere.

Maybe someone knows of some setting to fix this? There don’t appear to be any codec options available for Animation in the Adobe Media Encoder. Have resorted to Photo JPEG as a fallback. Of course, this doesn’t help if you need an alpha channel.

I’ve had the same problem. Have been trying to nail it down to when it happens in terms of something I’m doing, but haven’t had any luck so far. You’re right, it’s really annoying and the only fix is to quit the app.

Just upgraded from an ATI 128 MB card to the Nvidia 6800 GT and all the alerts about cropped images and the slight shifting I’d been experiencing on playback have disappeared. In addition, general playback is much better, as would be expected. No need to mess around with Fixed Resolution anymore. I’d highly recommend upgrading. BTW – I had problems finding this card in stock at a decent price. You might want to try B&H for one.

Upgraded to 10.4.3 and Motion 2.0.1. That seems to have fixed things. Thanks.

I’m running 10.4.2. You need to be running 10.4.3 to update to Motion 2.0.1, and I’ve been avoiding updating to 10.4.3 due to problems I’ve read about with it. May just have to bite the bullet and hope for the best.

    Thanks again,

Thanks, Noah. Did that and repaired permissions. Same problems.
