    Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for the insight. I didn’t un-install, but got this response back from AJA support (quickly, i might add) and it seems to be working again:

Sounds like corrupt QT plugin prefs. Go to Users > Library > Preferences > trash Quicktime Preferences and com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist

With reference to our driver’s influence on this issue, it does not appear to be connected. The Pro Res codec stability is all FCP/Apple. We simply point to it from within our presets.”

Thanks to all who viewed and hope this helps someone else.

Hi Thanks for the response, but I don’t think so. Running an HDPro from CalDigit and having no issues at all with HD through Log & Transfer. ONLY happens when doing a Log & Capture from my beta deck and when I select ProRes422 as the digitizing codec. DV50 works fine. Is there an incompatibility with the New ProRes codecs and FCP 6.06?

I get the same thing with Snow Leopard. I get ramdom freezes on sleep wakeup, But I ca’t say its P2 related.

  • Duel is saying it’s not happening.

Chris & Jeremy. Good info. Keep Leopard on my MBP for the foreseeable future. Edit suite tower is doing fine with Snow Leopard and P2, So all is good for now!

    Hey Chris,

It ain’t Panasonic. It’s Duel Systems and the drivers for their adapter are the culprit.

    Jeremy,

I’m not sure about that. I have Snow Leopard on my MacPro tower and Final Cut 6.0.6 is running just fine and HDLog and ShotPutPro are recognizing archived P2 images. The big issue out there is that the DUEL SYSTEMS drivers are not written into Snow Leopard’s database. Duel has to step up like they did in 10.4 and get drivers written.

My HVX200 is connected by FW right now to Snow Leopard and my little NoName’s are mounted. So P2 is fine but it’s Duel that’s the issue.

Spoke to the Duel people last night and they said they were caught by surprise with the omission of the Duel driver in 10. as they were that Apple had put their own driver for it in 10.5 They said they are working on it but have no timeline.
Calls to their tech support may hasten development.
