  • The Warp Stabilizer VFX effect can be used to lock down a specific part of the scene.

Steve Forde shows hot to do that in the video by him linked to from here:

How are you previewing the composition? Exactly which button are you pressing or clicking? Are you using RAM preview?

First, why are you exporting to SWF? That is almost always a bad idea from After Effects.

That said, you probably have the Unsupported Features setting set to Ignore. See this page for information about that:

It’s crashing in the CUDA code.

First, update to the most recent version of After Effects. You’re running two major bug-fix updates behind. You should be using After Effects CS6 (11.0.3):
    https://adobe.ly/AE_CS6_1103
You should always update to the most recent version before trying such manual (and likely destructive) workarounds as deleting files and folders.

Then, install the latest CUDA libraries.

    No, wait a second!!

Why do you even have CUDA software installed? I’m pretty sure that your model of MacBook Pro doesn’t have an Nvidia processor. Did you try to install CUDA software onto a computer that doesn’t have CUDA hardware?

After Effects relies on QuickTime for those codecs. Do you have these codecs enabled in QuickTme?

  • Post screenshots. Or better, a screen capture movie.

November 2, 2013 at 3:50 pm in reply to: New to AE/Windows, completely lost codec-wise

What were you using on Mac OS? In most cases, you don’t need to change how you were working just because of a change of OS. If you install QuickTime on your computer with Windows, you have access to virtually the same set of codecs (without the one notable exception being the ability to write to ProRes).

Today, we released the After Effects CC (12.1) update, which adds many GPUs to the list of cards that After Effects will use for GPU acceleration of the ray-traced 3D renderer. Among the additions are the GTX 675MX and GTX 680MX, which are in the iMacs.

    See this page for details:

I’d be curious to see people’s feedback about these cards in the newly updated After Effects using the benchmark test on this thread.
