    There is no way to toggle showing guide layers in RAM previews. However, you can sort of hack this by taking advantage of the fact that guide layers in nested compositions aren’t shown when you preview the containing composition. You could nest the composition that you want to preview in a new composition, and then preview the latter.

    It’s a bug in the cache system. You can flush the cache to clear it up (Edit > Purge > All Memory & Disk Cache). But, as you suggest, this shouldn’t really be necessary since this bug just affects empty compositions.

    FCP rounds the real 23.976 frame rate to 23.98 for display. Do not be fooled by this into thinking that the frame rate is 23.98 fps.
