I’m currently migrating our suites over to shared storage, albeit with local SSD RAIDs for cache (as some do with Fusion IO cards). It would be great to know if this is possible though if we ever want to have a project dynamically switch between suites.
Could it possibly be an issue with symbolic links vs hard links? Or perhaps the permissions of the cache folder? If the other system is a different user, it could certainly be a simple permissions issue.

Nice workaround! Odd behaviour on the compound clip! Report that to BM!

Assuming you have two video layers you want to show the differences between;
-Place one level of saturation on v1
-Place black on v2 (use generator, edit to match length of v1/v3, create compound clip)
-Place other level of saturation on v3
-Disable v2
-In color page, on clip on v3, add alpha output, create power window to create the area you want to reveal on v3, feed nodes alpha output to clip alpha output, and animate as desired.
-Enable v2
-Enable ‘save timeline keyframes’ in the still store
-Grab still from v3
-Paste grade onto v2
-In node sizing, add a small pan effect to create the desired thickness of line. It’s certainly not the simplest thing to do in Resolve but it’s certainly possible this way!

Have you tried changing the clip framerate in DaVinci for thr non 29.97 clips? Have a look at the TC in the cut list view in the edit page to see what framerate the xml is referencing, ie look for frame numbers above 29, that way you can see how premiere interpreted the footage and go from there. Also check your project settings again in resolve, starting a new project if necessary to change the timeline framerate.

Uncompressed 10 bit is huge and almost certainly unnecessary. It is likely that your disk speed is limiting the playback (it can’t read the uncompressed files fast enough). Try switching the export format to ProRes or DNxHD from Resolve and I’m sure you’ll be fine!

Are the .mov’s visible in finder? Make sure ‘hide extension’ setting is off in the file finder settings.

Have you checked to see if the media has filetype extensions? ie. .mov

Make sure you don’t have any power windows or otherwise isolated secondaries. Qualifiers can be OK but I would recommend having them quite ‘soft’.

It’s probably easier to just copy and paste the node and re-do the qualifier or correction to taste though!

Peter can you elaborate on ‘Source caching improvements with concurrent temporal processing’?
Thanks!
