You could buy/demo a screen capturing program. That’s what I use for animating webpages in After Effects/Final Cut Pro.

Thanks for the suggestions, I did end up testing the composites and they were fine. Leading me to believe that the board is toast. But don’t fret my fellow M100ers, I am fortunate enough to have a spare M100 (Dual G4 500mhz, that’s out of commission). I swapped out boards (they were identical P6000 w/SDI) and enter a new key, and voila, all is well again.

Why don’t you just capture the DVD as a “non-controllable” device and use the DV or whatever codec with your NLE? It would be much quicker/simpler than “ripping” the DVD.

And if you don’t have a capture card, just get a hold of a DV camcorder, run the DVD player thru it, all the while capturing via Firewire. I don’t know why you would even consider your original approach.

Plus, 2 hours of DV footage is NOTHING in regards to storage when compared to uncompressed codecs.
