Have you read the Known Limitations in the release notes ?

I believe this behavior is due to having the Filters tab open when applying a BCC filter in FCS 5.1

I’ve installed the update and thus far everything seems to be working beautifully.

If you purchased Motion 2 (PPC) as a standalone then yes you would gain access to download these filters after registering online.

If however you got Motion 2.1 as part of the FCS 5.1 Universal Binary upgrade then no. First of all the online registration doesn’t work with the FCS 5.1 serial # (I registered during installation of FCS 5.1) and secondly the PPC filters which are part of the registration incentive for Motion 2 are more than likely not compatible with Motion 2.1 Universal Binary.

Ok, well I’m going to give it a shot but as I’ve only had Motion for a little over a week things aren’t looking good. I did try applying the Glass Distortion to an object but couldn’t seem to get thing lined up properly. I also tried usiung the Displacement filter but couldn’t animate it correctly. I’ll keep trying and hopefully someone will chime in with some helpful hints.

FWIW I posted a request over on motionvfx for a video translation of the tut so we’ll see what happens.

Were you able to successfully translate the Glass Effect tutofrial to Motion 2 ?

I thought I’d better ask if this is actually possible with motion before I continue.

It is very reassuring to know that you are aware of the problem & are working on a solution. I couldn’t ask for more.

About the Motion to FCS 5.1 issue, I can apply more BCC filters to Motion clips than I can FCS clips but there are still some BCC filters that black out the clips in Motion too.
