Standard ProRes 422 is also 10 bit. So why would the dynamic range of log footage be any more advantageous in HQ mode? Both ProRes 422 and ProRes 422(HQ) are the same thing except for data rate. My understanding of that is with the HQ, there is just less chance of multi-generational quality loss. Please explain if I’m wrong, I always love to learn new things.

    It worked perfectly.

For those who are interested, this was my workflow:

My cameras were at version 1.03. I used Windows XP (other people reported problems with Windows 7 above) to upgrade to 1.05, then 1.10, then 1.11, 1.12, and finally 1.14.

After that, I switched to my Mac and went from 1.14 straight to 1.26. Then after that, 1.3

Done. I did it for 5 cameras. Woohoo, thanks Julian!

Yes, I purchased the 32gig Transcend SDHC card and it works fine… I returned the Sandisk one for a refund.

Just for the record, I have an EX1 with the latest firmware and I just purchased a Sandisk Ultra II 32gb class 4 memory card from newegg.com and I tried everything everyone recommended on this forum and I CANNOT get it to format.

I tried multiple reformats in the camera in each slot, I tried doing it on the mac as an MSDOS FAT and copying over a good BPAV folder… still nothing.

I guess I could try doing it in Windows, but it doesn’t sound like that’s helped anybody either. I doubt it’s the MxR because I have a 16gb transcend card that works just fine in it.

Not sure what to do… what kinds of cards is everyone using? What cards are people having success with?
