Well I tried but that tutorial uses a much older version of Cinema 4D as far as I can tell. I don’t see any ‘connect’ option other than the connect object (which doesn’t do what the ‘connect’ function does in the tutorial) and there are a number of other functions throughout the tutorial that either don’t exist in R13, or are replaced with different functions that I don’t know about…

Thanks for all your help 🙂

January 16, 2013 at 3:28 am in reply to: Converting Matroska (.mkv) files to Prores for use in Final Cut ProWell like I said, I have Perian but when I tried converting it with compressor, it failed due to “missing codec”. I’m trying again now, but Compressor crashes every time I try to import the file. I don’t have Quicktime Pro and I also just tried MPEG Streamclip but it doesn’t seem to recognise .mkv files either…

January 15, 2013 at 9:20 am in reply to: Converting Matroska (.mkv) files to Prores for use in Final Cut ProI actually already have Perian, but does that affect my ability to convert them? I think I can play .mkv files in quicktime, but my end goal is to convert to prores specifically for smoother editing in Final Cut Pro.
Thanks for the reply by the way.

November 23, 2012 at 1:10 pm in reply to: How to check in and out points of clips already in the timeline? Thanks I’ll give it a try, and it’s not a very long project.
The reason it’s worth doing it by timecode is I’ve converted my files to Prores, whereas my Avid Media Files are .mxf so I don’t think exporting and EDL (I assume that’s the Avid equivalent of XML?) would work because it wouldn’t be the same files anyway.
Thanks again.

And I wasn’t really thinking of whether the client would not notice the change to the song, it was more of just me thinking it’s better not to do anything to it, regardless of how noticeable it was.
But I’m just a bit obsessive compulsive about stuff like that.
Thanks again.
