first of all you are shooting in the US setting of the camera– WHY?
I wasn’t the one doing the shooting, I’m the one trying to conform the shots so that the editor can work with it.

FCP/ Kona combo will only extract the frames in the appropriate time base- so a 59.94 will only extract the VFR frames at 23.98 if you are set to 25 it will not work

Okay, let me get this straight:

Run the Panasonic HD1400 on 59.94, capture at 23.98 (using 720p 23.98 dvcpro HD capture setting via HDSDI) and then conform in cinema tools?
