I think I found an elegant and easy way to move markers on a time line.Here is a simple scenario.

I have edited an entire project including chapter markers etc. Then I had to delete part of the opening sequence. I am now left with a gap at the beginning and would like to move not only the clip but also the chapter markers to the left (my new starting point 1:00:00;00). This is what I did:

I filled the gap (the amount of space I would like to move the markers to the left) with a slug (any long clip that fits will do). And then I simple pressed ripple delete (the smaller delete button, not the bigger which is just a lift delete and leaves a gap)

Voila!
