I am also on premiere CC and it works fine. There is no option to embed or not the timecode in the wave export settings, it does it by default. My Wave Audio export settings are as follows:

CCITT u-Law compression, 16 bit, 16000 Hz, Mono

There is a Metadata button at the bottom of the export window that let’s you select a bunch of option but I just leave it at its default settings “Embed in Output File” and “Preserve All”

Yes, works like a charm. There may be certain flavor of Wave Audio that do not support TC but using the CCITT uLaw compression works great for me.

    Enjoy!

Looks like Premiere Pro CC does embed TC on audio export. Works with most audio format exports (Mp3, Wav, IAFF, etc…), safest format for transcription services is probably to use Wav.

I have not figured out how to do this in Premiere Pro CC. AVID carries SMPTE timecode by default when exporting Wav audio files.

I got the official word from Canon today… XDCAM TRansfer Tool for Final Cut is not compatible with Canon MXF files which require Canon’s own XF plugin for importing to FCPro. Our problem is that the metadata was compromised (producers renamed folders and moved files around….) and I can only now work with the raw MXF video files. Canon says only solution is to transcode those file to a FCPro compatible codec. Doing that now using Adobe Media Encoder.

Having the exact same issue here, metadata got screwed up and we only have the MXFs to work with. XDCAM Transfer Tool import the file in FCP but audio totally wacky. Any update/fix on that issue? MXF work fine in Premiere Pro CS6 or AVID. Thanks.

Thanks Doug. Not too picky about the delay as long as it is not obvious. Right now by feeding analog audio directly to the deck and having the video processed by the ATEM TS, there is almost 1/2 sec delay so, it’s bad. I am sure feeding digital audio to the TS will fix this.

    Take care.

Thanks Doug. Pretty amazing piece of gear for the price. My typical setup to use the TS is a small events with 2 or 3 cameras where we are fed house analog audio. We record the HD-SDI output of the TS to a XDCAM HD deck and feed the house analog audio to it. Doing so, create a recording with quite a delay between audio and video. So, I assume that using the Beringher A/D converter and feedeing the house audio into the TS will alleviate this. What do you think? Also, do I need some kind of sync generator to feed both, TS and A/D converter?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a simple, low cost A/D converter to feed XLR balanced audio to the AES/EBU digital audio input on the ATEM Television Studio? Most A/D audio box I see cost almost as much as the TS alone. It almost makes more sense to buy an ATEM 1 M/E instead which comes with analog audio I/Os.

    Take care,

    Does anyone know if…

    1. The ATEM 1 M/E guts have h.264 encoding capability
    2. If BMD planning to add h.264 support on ATEM 1 & 2 M/E switchers

I think it is really an oversight on their part to have left this future out on those systems when their entry level system, ATEM Television Studio has it. Does not make sense, everyone want/needs h.264 encoding these days.
