B&H video is the online standard and will be able to put some packages for you or at least some ideas. However, look local in case you run into any issues with your equipment or need help putting together your studio.

    Start small and build big…

In my experiences people forget that there has to be a 3-5 commitment.
I’ve seen it happen several times at several different organizations, someone goes and buys equipment and spends a ton of money. A year or 2 down the road, new software is needed, more hard drives are needed, the camera needs service, more man power is needed you get the picture.

I think asking someone how much time, money and effort your leadership wants to give to, is an appropriate question to ask.
Or compare how much a years worth of outsourcing would cost you as mentioned in an earlier post and multiply it for 5 years.

I have a local vendor I work with for my equipment, as many times as I’ve cried wolf, they are always delighted to lend hand and provide me with a quote.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

Bill’s right you have to network!! You have to do your homework…

Seek out an organization in your area that you think might have or be in need of services. Look for a way in the front door, design, web, presentations, training, marketing ETC. Get your feet wet, learn the company culture and product then start asking around. You would be amazed on how Power Point is seen as a Skill set in many corporations these days.

Another suggestion is do some freelance work for the company a couple of times and then offer up your services full time.

    Good luck

Heard some complaints about shooting in low light though….

I really want to grab one of the new Cannon 7d with a Zacto kit, unreal quality with adjustable lens. Not sure about the audio on this set up but the footage is amazing. Maybe a bit to good,

I wonder sometime on how high of level to go? I dont exactly have a makeup artist every time I need to shoot a message or training. HD, can make some people look really bad…LOL

This might be the link? Firewall sorry

Try Flip for Mac, or Mpeg Stream clip and re-save the files with the same extention. Its a reach but might just work.

I always try to do a title side, to give the speak free range of time to set up the video. My biggest problem is people sending the power point and the video gets left in a source file some where on the server.

Flip for Mac has done a great job with compression for WMVs, I still hate power point for anything. Round these parts we call them decks..
And people use them everything, even in place of Word sometimes.

I was able to do some presentations and interactive CDs last year utilizing Adobe PDF format. Great stuff but takes a bit of programing and patience.
