Yes, it’s HDV material.
I’ve been testing a bunch of files on a number of pcs this week and have made a decision to go with 1280x720p wmv files. This seems to play well on all the pcs I’ve tried.
I’m not sure if windows media player utilizes dual cores or not, but it seems that the dual cores that are under 2ghz don’t play the full 1440 files too well where there are lots of generated media and faster movement.
The 2.8ghz pcs I tried studdered on certain points on the 1440 file as well. I guess it really depends on what’s running on the pc and how labour intensive the file is.
The only question I have now is 1280×720 still considered HD?

If the project was HDV 1080i, is AVI better than rendering to HDV 1080i?

So you are saying that everyone’s DVD’s that start with HDV footage ends up smaller, width wise?
I’m not sure I like that.
It seems to me when I play the HDV version next to the SD render, that the SD picture has been squished in (people look a bit skinnier-no one seems to mind this issue but me :).
I just don’t think this should be happening. I want my proportions to be accurate.
Is there something else I could be missing?
I’ve captured the footage with 3 different apps with no change in final render outcome.
Anything else come to mind?

I’m using DVDA.
The project is only a 7 min piece. Hopefully there’s room for some HD footage.

Good question! I was just wondering the same?
I need to buy XP this week to run on my new macbook pro and I don’t know if pro has any advantage over home.

Seems like almost all of my footage I shoot has twittering in it somewhere. It’s really amature looking when someone’s teeth are twittering when they smile.

I’m thinking I need a better cam that shoots progressive.
