IMO the Lumetri tools are lousy and lacking a bunch of features. You should probably try and learn to use Resolve. There’s a color compressor effect for something like this.

QT H264 in AME doesn’t have any settings for multipass rendering and resolution tops out at 2000×2000. I have no idea what you’re doing but apparently it is working for you.

If you use AME and export in Quicktime you’re using the Apple codec. Which is missing a bunch of features and is limited in a bunch of ways eg. the QT version is missing multipass encoding and is resolution limited. If you use the H264 format you’re exporting with Mainconcept.
These are different encoders.

The Quicktime H264 encoder is different and has a number of limitations compared to the Mainconcept encoder.

Pedestal is the black level of a video signal. I have no idea what super awesome qualities boosting it would have in keying.

When you have uncompressed image sequences you need a really fast media drive if you want to play them in realtime.

What format are the source files? What are the sequence settings? What are your exact export settings?

What format does the MXF contain? Also have you checked the activity monitor when playing back?
