    You should have no issues putting in a different brand of RAM, however you should try and match the clock speeds of the individual chips themselves. Regardless of brand, if the specs are similar then you should be able to get comprable performance from the system.

    Just recently bought 4 x 1GB PC3200 DDR 400 SAMSUNG chips for $500 from 18004memory.com. This is the exact same RAM that Apple uses/sells in their Retail stores (even has the same sticker), except it would cost you $1200 there. The shipping was fast (Fedex 2-day). They have a specific “Apple” section, and seem to be really competitive in their pricing.
