November 20, 2017 at 1:37 pm in reply to: AE CS6 11.0.1 CUDA BENCHMARK PROJECT – test your graphics cards!Jesus I can’t believe people are still trying to use this benchmark
Guys, the AE raytracer is far beyond end of life, it’s no longer supported, stop using this benchmark or trying to hack your AE to get results you can’t even compare accurately to others, and that do not utilize any new graphics tech.
Don’t remove your brand new graphics cards.
Don’t uninstall CC2017 and go back to CS6.
Embrace the future, move on from this and use modern technology to the fullest.
Explore actual 3D programs like C4D. Heck even Element will use your GPU resources much better than this.
And may I also suggest moving on from Creative Cow. This place hasn’t been relevent for 5 years.
Unless you just feel like getting yelled at by Dave LaRonde. I dunno. Everybody has their fetish.
Please consider this benchmark officially abandonware, like the AE raytracer. There are so many other ways to test your system if that’s what you’re looking for. May I suggest Redshift or Cycles4D? They would blow your minds if you’re still doing 3D in AE.
Love,

February 7, 2015 at 4:29 am in reply to: AE CS6 11.0.1 CUDA BENCHMARK PROJECT – test your graphics cards!Maybe the 96 gb RAM? Could be there was a RAM or HDD bottleneck with this project originally. or he’s lying. 🙂 Would have to know rest of pc specs to figure it out…

January 19, 2015 at 5:20 pm in reply to: AE CS6 11.0.1 CUDA BENCHMARK PROJECT – test your graphics cards!Ian you’re a mad man. Thanks for taking over this thread, I can’t believe it’s still going strong!
And don’t forget the original titan series are getting cheaper, I have two in SLI that outpace my 2x gtx 580 setup, with 6 gb vram, and have pretty good compute scores.
So I too, am looking for a new setup and wondering about two options
#1 is a single 780 ti 6 gb
#2 is a gtx 780 ti 4 gb + gtx 970 for gaming and 3D work
#3 is a cheaper gtx 580 3gb + gtx 980 for better future proofing and more vram
Im leaning more towards option 3 right now… Would there be any driver issues / vram limits by going with this setup? I know AE can recognize the discrete cards separately, in fact it may ignore the 980 altogether

July 10, 2014 at 8:02 pm in reply to: AE CS6 11.0.1 CUDA BENCHMARK PROJECT – test your graphics cards!Yep, already have one titan, so the performance bump is worth it for a reasonable price, it could actually double my workflow speed.
In terms of C4D I was talking more about C4D viewport performance, not octane rendering, although it would be a good setup for that too.

July 10, 2014 at 4:51 pm in reply to: AE CS6 11.0.1 CUDA BENCHMARK PROJECT – test your graphics cards!I would like the 6GB RAM, it does get eaten up by AE in big scenes, especially in 2k and up. There can be stability issues without having matching cards, I have found in the past. Additionally, I do want the option of SLI for gaming.
However does anyone know how C4D R15 handles dual GPU setups? Does SLI make a difference? Can it utilize two different GPUS like AE?

Quick question: i am actually hunting for a gtx titan NON black edition ( ie original) to speed up a project im working on. I already have one titan and want the other for SLI. Anybody in this thread willing to sell a used one at a reasonable price? They are actually difficult to find on the used market…
I have 100% positive feedback on ebay and would actually prefer to arrange the sale through there if possible. Or in the nyc area through a craigslist type sale…

May 27, 2014 at 2:00 pm in reply to: NEW! Free Total-Systems After Effects Benchmarking Suite – AfterBenchCC – Test your CPU / GPU / RAM / VRAMNo, unfortunately not. The entire point of this suite is to test performance of hardware with new creative cloud features. You would get wildly different results if you tried to convert it back to cs6. I highly recommend the upgrade, although I understand it would be quite expensive if you’re not using it to make a living…

May 15, 2014 at 11:19 pm in reply to: AE CS6 11.0.1 CUDA BENCHMARK PROJECT – test your graphics cards!Ian, I have a new suite of total benchmarks, not just GPU. Would love to see your results on these. I am no longer supporting this outdated benchmark, although of course you are free to use it.

Thanks!
PS. What on earth are you using 4 GTX 580s for? Bitcoin mining?

April 25, 2014 at 3:25 pm in reply to: NEW! Free Total-Systems After Effects Benchmarking Suite – AfterBenchCC – Test your CPU / GPU / RAM / VRAMHey folks, would really love to see these tests run on a new Mac Pro – or any systems that aren’t currently represented. The tests don’t take too long and you don’t have to do all of them. Check it out and post your results, thanks!!
